ORIGIN mid 19th cent.: apparently from Joshua (Josh. 8:18), the plant being likened to a man brandishing a spear.

a National Park of 1,022,703 acres (414,050 hectares), S California. Lying between the high Mojave Desert and the low Colorado Desert, this park has a unique ecosystem in which are preserved rare Joshua trees ( Yucca brevifolia) as well as ocotillos, chollas, and brittlebushes. It is home to a variety of wildlife including bighorn sheep, bobcats, roadrunners, golden eagles and the endangered desert tortoise. The park also conatins very unique Monzo-Granite rock formations.

ORIGIN the area was designated a national monument in 1936 and a national park in 1994.

Bruce Geffin and the crew from the Joshua Tree Skin Care / Enertia Trail Foods sponsored Nice Pair won the Chicago to Mackinac race last weekend... for the 3rd time in a row! This 'hat trick' for the Nice Pair come just a week after performing a similar 'hat trick' in the Port Huron to Mackinac Race.

The minimalist living accouterments onboard the pair are a perfect candidate for the gourmet, cook in the bag, dehydrated meals offered by Trail Foods.
